About 'Tis the Season


Hi everyone!

My name's Ciara and I'm a 3rd marketing student at Strathclyde University.  For part of my coursework this year, I have to create a blog on any topic of my choice. Because last year's lockdown robbed us all of a lot of the seasonal fun we would usually have at this time of year, it was a no-brainer for me to base my blog on some of the amazing seasonal events in and around the West of Scotland area, especially since it gives me an excuse to visit a few of them myself!

As well as this blog, I've also set up a TikTok account to document some of the events that I get the chance to visit, which you can find at @tistheseason.wos

'Tis the Season to Get Spooky

This post is part 1 of 2 of some of the fang-tastic events to celebrate Halloween in and around Ayrshire and Glasgow. Another blog post highlighting even more local events will be uploaded soon!  For the Families – M&D’s Pumpkin Outdoor Festival 2021  Running from Saturday 9th of October until Sunday 31st October, selected dates and times. There are several different pumpkin picking events around Glasgow but this one is my favourite for families due to the extras in place to ensure that visitors have the best Halloween experience possible. Visitors can not only pick a pumpkin from the patch but also enjoy storytelling by Folksy Theatre, play the ‘Bash a Pumpkin’ game, and even ride the Pumpkin Express train! 'Tis the Season to Ho Ho Ho

This is post is part 2 of some events that have been organised across Glasgow and Ayrshire to help you all have yourself a merry little Christmas!  If you missed my last post, check that out for some festive date ideas and Christmas night out inspiration!  For the Christmas Lovers – Christmas Markets in Glasgow, Kilmarnock and Edinburgh While the iconic Christmas market in Glasgow's George Square has been cancelled this year, the smaller one at St Enoch’s Centre is still going ahead with popular stalls including Mrs Puller’s candied nuts and Belgian treats and the Ranch Bar from the George Square Market. Running from 21st November to 23rd December. Kilmarnock is hosting its very first Christmas market in the new St Marnock Square, including market stalls, street food and entertainment. This market is only running on the 11th of December from 10am-4pm Finally, if you’re keen on travelling a bit further afield for some festivities, my personal favourite has to be the Edinburgh Christ
