'Tis the Season to Sparkle

We’re now at the point between Halloween and Christmas where the cold weather and dark nights can leave us all feeling a little bit miserable. Don’t worry though - this blog post is all about some local events that have been organised to help light up the dark nights ahead of us.

Bonfire Night Events

There are too many different local fireworks displays to discuss in detail in this post, however, I have listed some of the confirmed professional displays below. This means that if you’re interested, you can easily pick the best location for you. Please note that several of these events do require pre-booking and some may be subject to Covid-19 guidelines, so I strongly recommend checking either the website or Facebook page for the firework display.

  • Edenmill Farm Shop, Cafe and Soft Play – Glasgow (Friday 5th November + Saturday 6th November)
  • Louisa Drive, Girvan & South Carrick – South Ayrshire (Saturday 6th November)
  • Halfway, Cambuslang – Glasgow (Saturday 6th November)
  • McGavin Park, Kilwinning – North Ayrshire (Friday 5th November)
  • Ballantrae Harbour – South Ayrshire (Saturday 6th November)

However, due to a lot of uncertainty around some of these events, I thought I’d include another way to sparkle the night away…

GlasGlow at the Glasgow Botanic Gardens

  • Running from Wednesday 27th October to Sunday 14Th November
  • GlasGlow is an immersive light show trail throughout the beautiful Glasgow Botanic Gardens
  • This is the event’s fourth year running and due to the Cop26 conference being held in Glasgow, the theme of GlasGlow this year is ‘Save the City’ which is an amazing way to incorporate the Cop26 conference.
  • GlasGlow is one of the best events held around this time of year, so getting all wrapping up with your family, friends or partner and spending the evening strolling around a trail complete with award-winning lights, sound effects and set designs makes for a perfect Autumn evening.
Tickets are £20 for adults, £12 for 3-15 year olds, and little ones under 3 years old go free. There are also fast-track ticket options available this year.
