'Tis the Season

Now that Halloween and Bonfire Night are over, I think it’s finally time to start talking about the most wonderful time of the year – Christmas! This post is part 1 of 2 of some of the best events in Ayrshire and Glasgow to bring us all a bit of Christmas cheer. We’re now at the point between Halloween and Christmas where the cold weather and dark nights can leave us all feeling a little bit miserable. Don’t worry though - this blog post is all about some local events that have been organised to help light up the dark nights ahead of us.  Bonfire Night Events  There are too many different local fireworks displays to discuss in detail in this post, however, I have listed some of the confirmed professional displays below. This means that if you’re interested, you can easily pick the best location for you. Please note that several of these events do require pre-booking and some may be subject to Covid-19 guidelines, so I strongly recommend checking either the website or Facebook page for the firework display. This post is part 2 of some of the fa-boo-lous events to celebrate Halloween in and around Ayrshire and Glasgow. Part 1 (‘Tis the Season to Get Spooky) was uploaded last week which listed events for families and scare-seekers, so check that out if you missed it!  For the Friends – Silverburn Spooktacular  Running from Thursday 7th of October until Sunday 31st of October, selected dates. This funfair is a new event this year located in the Green Car Park at Silverburn shopping centre. The sessions are 4 hours long and run from either 12pm-4pm or 5pm-9pm. There are loads of different rides, food stalls and photo opportunities, making this the perfect place to round up your friends for some fun, food and even some cool Halloween photoshoots! Tickets are £16.50 for riders over 1.2m and £13.20 for riders under 1.2m, and these tickets offer unlimited rides. Another blog post highlighting even more local events will be uploaded soon!  For the Families – M&D’s Pumpkin Outdoor Festival 2021  Running from Saturday 9th of October until Sunday 31st October, selected dates and times. There are several different pumpkin picking events around Glasgow but this one is my favourite for families due to the extras in place to ensure that visitors have the best Halloween experience possible. Visitors can not only pick a pumpkin from the patch but also enjoy storytelling by Folksy Theatre, play the ‘Bash a Pumpkin’ game, and even ride the Pumpkin Express train! There are also 2 ASN sessions for families with children who may need a wee bit of extra support during events like these, meaning everyone can join in on the fun.
